At The Norwich School of Hair & Beauty, we aim to provide our students with the opportunities to develop their skills whilst offering support beyond the classroom. We aim to get as many of our students as possible into salons to build on their experience, and our Level 3 Hairdressing student Faye is a great example of that!
Faye managed to secure herself a place working at Atelier, Norwich. We love seeing Faye progress in her work as a Level 3 Stylist, and she kindly answered some questions about her journey for us!
Which course are you studying at the school?
I am currently studying the level 3 hairdressing course at the school.
When do you complete your course?
I will be completing the course in July 2022.
Why did you choose to study at the school?
I chose to study at the school because I was looking to gain more confidence and skills to allow me to offer more services to clients.
Your greatest piece of advice for anyone thinking of joining the course.
Don’t hesitate- just do it! You will never regret it! You will meet some incredible people and it will open up so many opportunities for you!
Your top tips to get motivated.
Believe in the potential that you have and really push yourself! You will seriously surprise yourself when you see the progress you can make and how much further you can take it! Once you get a taste for it, you will feel so motivating keep going!
Your go-to place for inspiration, and why?
Instagram is a great place for inspiration! There is such a wide range of talented people on social media these days and so many of them are willing to share their knowledge with you! On Instagram there is styles for everyone so if there’s something that takes your eye, don’t be afraid to give it a go! Over the years I feel everyone has become so much more creative and willing to try new styles so there will always be someone out there to be your guinea pig!
What are you most proud of so far?
I am most proud of the confidence and happiness I have achieved since doing the level 3 hairdressing course. I have been able to prove to myself that I am capable of fulfilling my career dreams in the industry that I love so much!
What are you planning on doing when your course has finished?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
In 5 years’ time, I would love to be working as a fully established colour technician/stylist! It would be amazing if I had the opportunity to offer more services such as bridal parties and event hairs too!
