We were thrilled to welcome our new level 2 barbering students this weekend. As lockdown 3.0 restrictions start to ease, our students have been waiting patiently to start their barbering training since having their course cancelled in November 2020. We are as keen as they are to get them up and running and practising barbering techniques as soon as possible at The Norwich School of Hair and Beauty.
We’ve missed our students and staff so much after the uncertainty of the last 12 months. Beauty and barbering have certainly been one of the industries hit the hardest by the coronavirus pandemic. We hope this time we are back open for good after a truly unique year, which has certainly been a bumpy road for almost everyone across the country in the beauty industry and beyond!
Barbering is a fast-growing industry. Today, men are spending more time on their appearance than ever before, and after a lengthy break from the barber shop chair, we are sure we’ll have plenty of volunteers for our first class of 2021 to practice on! Our aim is to train barbers that are confident and knowledgeable, and have a true passion for their art. As @Worldbarberday said: #Barbering isn’t just a career, it’s a passion!
As we welcome back all our students, staff and clients, we need to make sure we continue to observe the government guidelines. To keep everyone in The Norwich School of Hair and Beauty safe, as well as their friends and families, we need to adhere to the following:
Make sure our students wear the correct PPE. Carry out regular hand washing and practice social distancing where possible. We’ll also be providing cleaning products and hospital grade hand sanitisers. All our cutting stations and tools will be thoroughly cleaned after each client. We want to make sure we do everything we can to keep everyone in our school safe. After all, after such a long time away from the salon, we would hate to have to close again! We changed our salon around after the first lockdown to adhere to social distancing where possible.
Our course starting in April is fully booked, but if you are intrigued by what our level 2 barbering course involves, please feel free to check out the course information or give us a call on: 01603 928 900.
We are excited to get the next generation of barbers out into the world, and welcome any enquiries relating to our courses.
Free men’s haircuts
As our barbering school reopens, we will of course be needing a variety of male models for our students to practice their newly found barbering skills on! If you are local to Norwich and are interested in getting a free men’s haircut, join our Facebook group now. Our trainees will post their available appointments on the page. You get a cool new haircut, and one of our students gets the chance to perfect their barbering skills. It’s a win-win situation.
Here at The Norwich School of Hair and Beauty we wish everyone in the industry a safe and successful reopening. See you soon!
