There is a host of amazing hairdressers in Norwich, and proudly, there are many salons which our ex-students have gone on to work for.
Norwich is host to more than a 100 hairdressing salons and barbers, but thought we’d take a closer look at some of these fabulous salons on our doorstep!
Hairsmiths, Woburn Court, 8 Guildhall Hill
Hairsmiths was founded in 2011 by Deb Dominic is next door to The Norwich School of Hair & Beauty’s offices and are an innovative, award-winning hair salon in the heart of the historic Norwich Lanes shopping district.
Kinki Boutique Hairdressing Salon, 5 Castle Street
Kinki Boutique was created by Jason Taylor who has worked at some of the most well know companies such as Vidal Sassoon, Trevor Sorbie and Toni and Guy. They offer a creative, feel good space with a team who are deeply and passionately dedicated to the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry and fully understand the influence that looking good can have on the way you feel about yourself.

The Egg Hair Salon, 13 Lower Goat Lane
Staff at The Egg Hair Salon have been trained to the highest standards and are experienced in every aspect of hairdressing. With training in London at Vidal Sassoon, Toni&Guy and their ongoing in-house training keeps all their staff at the highest levels to make sure clients receive the quality and service they deserve.
Toni&Guy Norwich, London Street
This Norwich Toni&Guy salon has recently been ranked though Toni&Guy’s Customer Service Survey in the top 3% of all the Toni&Guy salons for Customer Service – a position they are extremely proud and delighted with. Toni&Guy is a British brand that state they firmly bridge the gap between high-fashion and hairdressing.
John Olivers, Elm Hill
This salon is the perfect blend of medieval surroundings and modern luxury and is situated on one of Norwich’s most picturesque streets. They offer a sophisticated Norwich hair salon where you can receive discreet personal service with the professionalism you expect.
Flint Hair, 6 Upper Goat Lane
Flint advise they are a mix of the traditional and modern and offer high quality hair cutting and colouring services in a relaxed environment. Owned by Conor who started his career in Norwich says “we provide a relaxed and comfortable environment where the emphasis is on quality and it’s about keeping a cut simple and well structured, paying attention to every detail and, ultimately, giving people a haircut they can wash and go and not spend hours getting right”.
Garner Hairdressers, 9A St Giles St
Garner Hair an award-winning salon in Norwich and offer a creative hair styling and professional service, from a family run business. They offer a range of services including hair extensions.
Bang Hairdressers, 6A St. Gregorys
Worth a notable mention, that our very own School Principal Sam did her apprenticeship at Bang! Bang offer a unisex hairdressing service that they are very proud of with expert hairdressers who know how to get the best haircut for every individual and offer completely free consultations.
Impact Hair, 10, 12 At Andrews St
Impact Hair is a beautifully designed salon offering you a space to relax whilst the team of passionate hair experts deliver their wide range of services. Their stylists have trained with top names and continue to be inspired by new trends they offer onto clients. They pride themselves on their friendly and welcoming reputation.
Leveridges Salon, 30 St Benedicts St
There are some great reviews on this salon, we thought this one said it all! “Carly has been doing my hair for 5 years, she is amazing and has transformed my hair during this time, all the stylists at Leveridge are so friendly and amazing at their jobs. I would highly recommend having your hair done here. I would never go anywhere else.”
Atelier, 32 St Benedicts St
Atelier say that great styling is all about experience, expertise and exacting standards. The Atelier team is perfectly placed to deliver all three: doing so in a relaxed and friendly manner that instantly puts clients at ease and delivers the very best results for them.
Nigel Alexandre, 28 London St
This is one of 3 salons in the local area. Established in 1961 and voted best salon by EDP readers and finalists many times at the British Hairdressing Awards. They are a unisex salon and claim to have carried out over 10 million haircuts in that time! They work with Schwarzkopf products and have work published in many magazines including cosmopolitan, Elle, Hair and Beauty and most hairstyle magazines. A friendly salon who move with the times and changing products.
Luis Neto Hair Design, Pottergate
This unisex salon prides themselves on being inline with modern hairdressing with a team of uniquely talented stylists. They keep a close eye on trends including afro-carribean fades and patterns and stock a range of female and male styling products to take the experience home.
Fossi Hair & Beauty, 8A Castle St
Established in 2015, by Nat, a former tutor at the Norwich School of Hair & Beauty, this boutique salon’s premises oozes historic character. They ensure a bespoke style for every customer and pride themselves on being equipped with the knowledge and skill to create the desired look. They feature much of their work on their social media pages.
