Student Success Story: Kim’s Journey Into Swedish Massage
Meet Kim – one of our amazing students who has completed her VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Swedish Massage right here at NSHB, Norwich’s Award winning massage and beauty training school.
After spending more than 15 years working in Children’s Social Care, Kim reached a turning point this year. She felt strongly that she was ready for a new chapter, one that offered more balance, more fulfilment, and the chance to build a career on her own terms. While exploring options for Norwich massage training, she visited NSHB and had a chat with Rosie, our Massage Tutor. That conversation sparked something powerful. It gave her the confidence to take the leap, enrol onto the course, and step into a completely new direction.
Balancing full-time work with professional training isn’t easy, but Kim approached her studies with determination and a genuine passion for learning. She completed her VTCT Level 3 Swedish Massage qualification with commitment, resilience, and the support of our expert tutors. Now, she’s excited to begin a new chapter in the massage therapy industry, creating a healthier work–life balance and a career she can be proud of.
Looking ahead, Kim hopes to build a loyal client base over the next five years while working part-time in her current role. With the support of a friend who owns Sophisticuts Hair Salon, she will be offering treatments there two days a week, the perfect stepping stone for anyone starting their massage therapy career in Norfolk. This opportunity gives her space to grow her confidence, refine her skills, and begin building the business she dreams of.
Her message for anyone considering training in massage?
