This months Student Spotlight is Sophie Wilkinson. Sophie trained with us on our Funded Beauty Therapy course from 2021-2022. She now runs a successful beauty business from her home and is now frequently fully booked! Sophie is a wonderful example of how this course can change your life!

Why did you choose to study at the school?
I have always been interested in beauty treatments & I wanted to learn a new skill to eventually leave my job I’ve been in since I finished school 14 years ago.
Your greatest piece of advice for anyone thinking of joining the course.
Take a chance and do it. It took many months to pluck up the courage to try something new and sign up.
Your top tips to get motivated.
Continue to set new goals. Practice, practice, practice as much as you can out of the classroom. It helps build your confidence ready for being in the big wide world of Beauty Therapy.
Tell us about your journey/career since finishing your course?
Throughout the course I practiced on as many people as a possible after each unit that I passed. These clients are now regular clients and continue to support my small business. I work from home and I have set up some room in my living room. A warm and welcoming sanctuary for clients that don’t enjoy the salon environment.
Your go to place for inspiration, and why?
Social Media. It’s a great place to see what the ‘trends’ are & also get inspiration from other beauty therapists that have years of experience under their belt.
What are you most proud of so far?
I’m proud of becoming a more confident person with a new skill. Returning clients & proud of every treatment I do with a happy client at the end.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I see myself in 5 years time with my own space and leaving my night shift job to work full time as a Beauty Therapist.

Waxing, Tinting, Facials, Gel Polish Manicure & Pedicure. I have also done some add on courses in Lash Lifts & Brow Lamination.
